I am not quite sure where the month of September went this year, but it appears to have come and gone and we are now in the throes of Halloween, holidays and Fall. I hope that summer (a distant memory at this point) treated you well, and that each of you made it through Irma’s wrath without incident. I believe we were very lucky and I feel very grateful; I am sure you do as well.
Our first General Membership Meeting is scheduled for Monday, October 16, 2017 at 5:00 p.m. in the Board Room. Check out the flyer and see that Dr. Avossa, Mike Burke, and Dianne Howard will be with us to talk money, budget and health insurance – all topics that are important to every member!
On another note, I have just been notified that the District will now allow Confidential employees to receive the stipend for records custodian as well as the stipend for school clinic backup should no AESOP employee be interested. I have spoken to many of you regarding this and am happy the District understood the importance of this to our members. Labor Relations assures me that this information will be disseminated shortly through appropriate channels.
As we move forward into the school year, please know that I am available should you have any issue or question. Your voice is important and all opinions matter, so urge your co-workers to join and share their thoughts as well. Membership is voluntary – of course – but our strength is in numbers when we discuss issues with District Leadership .
Feel free to call or email me and I look forward to seeing you on October 16, 2017, at 5:00 p.m. in the Board Room at the District Office.
