It does not seem possible that the end of the calendar year is here and that the 2017-18 school year is half over. Some days may seem endless but the weeks fly by!
Last evening the School Board unanimously voted to approve a 3% pay raise for all
Non-Bargaining Unit employees. This pay raise is retroactive to July 1, 2017, and is
very, very good news for all of you. This increase will show in your paycheck after
the new year – probably in February. The retroactive dollars due you back to July 1
will be given out after that. At this time the District is not quite sure of a definite
date but as soon as they know, I will let you all know.
This pay raise marks the third straight year NBU employees have seen a 3%
increase! So…..for the last five years you have seen a 15% salary increase. That is a
very good thing and although more money is always welcome, what we have seen is
good as well as the concerted effort to keep health care costs in check.
I will do my very best to keep you all informed and represent you and your needs to
the District leadership as we turn our calendars to 2018. Thanks for all each of you
